discussie

I had to travel oversees this week and was in Philadelphia/US. Beside a couple of American Robin tail feathers, I found these two. The right one (length 8.7 cm) most likely Mourning dove.. But what is the left one (length7.9 cm)? From its appearance, I thought it could be a dove, too, but the colour would odd…. (I found the feathers in a central park, directly in Philadelphia) Many thanks in advance, Uwe
Val
Killdeer and mourning dove, both tail feathers

Awesome! I would have never thought of a plover - especially right in a central city area - thanks! U.

Odd indeed! I’ve heard of others finding killdeer feathers at parking lots and central city areas as well so that doesn’t surprise me that much anymore, haha.
