Discussion

Found this feather about 25 feet away from two smaller, dead birds, one of which was partially eaten. Both of the smaller birds appeared to have been moved from an area halfway between where I found the feather and their new location. My dog was barking loudly about 4:40 A.M. but could not get outside at the time. I'm guessing that may have been when this all happened. The feather is approximately 11 inches or 28 centimeters in length.

Thank you for the help! I will be donating it to Liberty Wildlife where they have a Feather Repository. I took lots of pictures and did also have it confirmed by someone local to be from a Red-tail Hawk. It is a gorgeous feather that a camera can't do justice to. Thank you all very much!
