I found these feathers last summer in a park next to a river in Guadalajara (Spain). My first option was Luscinia megarhynchos, but some people have told me it could belong to Phoenicurus ochruros too. In my opinion, the first feather on the left is the most relevant one due to the darker colours in the base.

I think the black redstart is the most possible option because they’re usually the ones to have lighter tail feathers (although that’s not always the case) ,because of the faint dark spots at the tips of the feathers and because of the fact that they’re a bit more common than nightingales in spain and areas around madrid.

Specimen #1719 from featherbase shows that black redstart tail feathers can have black at their base as well

What's about Common Redstart?
